SAFE SPACE ACCOUNTABILITY PROCESS
At TRIBE, we commit to cultivating a culture of integrity, safety, and respect. All members, guests, and staff deserve to be seen, heard, and protected in the spaces we share. The following policy outlines how we address violations of physical, emotional, and communal boundaries.
INCIDENT REPORTING PROCESS
The Incident Report Form to help us respond clearly and appropriately to things that may happen within our four walls. This includes but is not limited to:
Physical injury
Sexual harassment
Inappropriate touch or boundary crossing
Discrimination (race, gender, identity, body, etc.)
Verbal abuse or aggressive behavior
Emotional distress or triggering experience
Why a form? Because verbal complaints can get lost or misunderstood. Just like filing a report with a trusted authority, this form gives us a clear starting point for action.
If filling out a form doesn’t feel right for you, please immediately reach out to one of us: Diara@tribebaltimore.com and Radha@tribebaltimore.com. We’ll create a support plan together.
Note: If your report involves another person in the community, we’ll need to speak with them too to ensure fairness and clarity.
Accountability Levels
The following accountability levels were help developed by Consent Academy in order to create a safe space.
If non-consensual behavior is alleged, the Tribe Support & Accountability Team will speak to all involved parties, and witnesses where appropriate. They will then recommend either no action, a Corrective Intervention, a Moderate Intervention, or a Major Intervention.
Consequences of non-consensual behavior
If a Code of Conduct violation, non-consensual behavior, is alleged, Tribe’s Support and Accountability Team will speak to involved parties and witnesses. They will then recommend either no action, a Corrective Intervention, a Moderate Intervention, or a Major Intervention.
Level 1: Corrective Intervention:
Results in a warning. You will receive a phone call or an in-person conversation.
Examples of transgressions in this category could include non-sexual touch without consent, poor cultural awareness regarding race, gender, age, etc.
Actions May Include:
Verbal or written warning is issued.
Education on boundaries and behavior is offered
Level 2: Moderate Intervention:
Examples of transgressions that could trigger a moderate intervention could include consent accidents, repeated corrective interventions, pressuring or badgering someone into an activity when that pressure did not lead to sexual contact, or certain negligent harms.
Actions May Include:
Three-month suspension from TRIBE events (classes, socials, and workshops).
Attendance at a Consent & Communication Workshop is required.
Participation in monitored or instructor-approved spaces (e.g., private lessons or staff-led practices) may be considered during the suspension.
Further education or agreements may be required before reintegration.
Reassessment follows to determine next steps, which may include continued restrictions.
Level 3: Major Intervention:
Examples of transgressions that could trigger a major intervention could include unwanted sexual touch, pressuring someone into an activity that led to sexual contact sexual assault, rape, threatening or abusive behavior in person or online an ongoing pattern of behavior inconsistent with community values and expectations, extreme intoxication, more than one minor or moderate transgression, non-consensual photos taken at an event, or deliberate false incident reports.
Actions May Include:
Case-by-case review. May result in:
12-month suspension.
Removal from TRIBE.
Lifetime ban from TRIBE spaces.
Note: The transgressor may be responsible for doing the work and paying for any necessary therapy, coaching, education, or mediation to learn from the incident.
